Welcome to the Swine Infectious Disease Research Centre or CRIP. Located in the Université de Montréal Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (in St.Hyacinthe), this Centre is under the direction of Professor Josée Harel, Director of the Swine Infectious Disease Research Group (Groupe de Recherche sur les Maladies Infectieuses du Porc).

The purpose of this Centre is to maximize the benefits derived from research related to swine infectious diseases. In order to achieve this, the Centre aims to coordinate the complementary efforts of the majority of the groups possessing relevant expertise in Quebec.

The CRIP thus intends to create a dynamic environment for interaction among 30 teams headed by scientists devoted to basic or applied research at six universities and four government institutions. It also seeks to stimulate communication between these researchers and potential users of their findings, primarily veterinarians and pork producers in Québec.

The CRIP is funded by the « Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la nature et les technologies ».
